Covid Poems: Odes to odious antivaxers

I feel sorry for some of these people, esp the couple with the dogs. Some of the others? Might as well be Nikolas Cruz, since their choices result in the death of innocent children. But they are all doing one thing well: Serving as object lessons. Don’t be a dumbass.

Have you read the breakthrough novel of the year? When you are done with that, try:

  1. These assholes have one thing in common: the only thing they can do (or have done) to make the world a better place is die.

    Fuck ‘em.

    1. Dean, same goes for the anthropogenic climate change deniers, some of whom feature in this:

How the Media helped Create Climate Change | George Monbiot

Shame Monbiot blotted his copybook by jumping all over Climategate before he had understood the real issue.

Excuse this apparent topic change but we are on about denial, of which there is now an abundance.

Problem is as the Covid pandemic continues its grip whilst climate wreaks havoc across the globe the threat to essential supplies of foods, medicines (becoming an issue here in UK partly thanks to the self inflicted Brexit wounds) and more will be used by the authoritarians increasingly making themselves felt to clamp down on all ‘others’.

  2. I tend to song parodies rather than poetry, and sometimes riff on the tune to Don’t it Make my Brown Eyes Blue — the gift that keeps on giving.

    DeSantis vows, “No mask mandate.
If you get sick, it must be fate.”
    We know it isn’t true,
And don’t it make our red state blue…

I believe his obtuseness is making Florida turn blue. We’ll see.

    1. “I believe his obtuseness is making Florida turn blue.”

From the inability to breathe if nothing else.

  3. Another a-hole to nobody will miss can be added to the list.

Steele, a frequent Alex Jones guest even denied his covid diagnosis in an update posted two weeks ago on his Public Intelligence Blog.

Steele posted Aug. 17. “I went in at 77 oxygenation. I’m up to 94. I will not take the vaccination, though I did test positive for whatever they’re calling ‘COVID’ today, but the bottom line is that my lungs are not functioning.”

Robert David Steele’s final tweet is a pretty good summary of the stupidity of these clowns and the modern right in general.

“The good news is that I will survive with a few days off,” Steele added. “I should be back up and at least functional soon. This is been a near death experience, very much like a new death experience the whole country is going through right now. We will never be the same because now we know that we’ve all been lied to about everything. But, now we also know that we can trust each other. I’m alive today because I had a network that put me into a good hospital in Florida.”

  4. Zero empathy for these assholes and everyone who refuses a vaccine for non-medical reasons. We have the same problem happening up here and the right wing authoritarian Conservative Party of Canada is dog whistling like crazy in the run up to and now in our current election campaign to lowest of the low, and people fed up with the pandemic restrictions (hint – the CPC hired the same social media firm that lied to the Brits to get Brexit through). We now have people following the PM around everywhere (who’s paying them?) threatening violence towards Trudeau.

While I feel sorry for families and pets left behind I don’t wish these anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers any good at all. I think of this as a giant exercise in natural eugenics – Darwin Award candidates one and all.
