Everybody in all the legislatures should say something like this every few minutes all day until this is settled.

Have you read the breakthrough novel of the year? When you are done with that, try:

  1. Agreed, but sadly the right got out ahead on these things by convincing their supporters she’s a socialist (a word so misused it has no meaning: in the current status it could mean someone who knows nazis and white supremacists are bad) and ideas she and others propose would wreck the economy.

You can’t make a reasoned argument to the public when the portion on the right has completely lost any sense of decency and has disavowed anything to do with science.

  2. A little glimmer of something positive, language changes and millennials seem to prefer their own definitions of ‘socialism’. Meanwhile nostalgic old men doddering around the trash heap of history continue to hyperventilate over antique trigger words, determined to be a burden and a nuisance to the very end.

Or we could just fry their brains once and for all and call it ‘fqzbrqwnxrtfyt’.

  3. The members of the “party of personal responsibility” stand revealed as grasshoppers — and not in a Kwai Chang Caine kind of way.

    1. As rickA and mikeN so clearly demonstrate (as representatives of Trump’s supporters): all the things they falsely accused Obama of doing in order to condemn him don’t matter when someone does them in real life as long as it’s a rich white conservative male doing them.

  4. This seems rather a disconnected, disoriented speech to me. For example, what does lead-poisoning in Flynt have to do with global warming?

And it is an elitist issue. People who have more than enough are talking about exploding the daily costs of living for people who are barely getting by.

While the GND shines a spot light on anthropogenic global warming, it also covers the intersection of sustainability, infrastructure, economics, justice, and health; and that includes clean water.

No. It is the beginning of comprehensive planning effort that addresses problems in disadvantaged communities. With a dismissive talking point assertion, your comment caricatures both the intent of the GND and the seriousness of the problem. Ignore the talking head shills and read the actual document.

    2. Kwai Chang Caine…

I’d forgotten how long ago Kung Fu first aired.

Aaaaah – I remember that show, but I’d forgotten the key name. Thanks.
