Carbon Brief has produced a US based (sorry, rest of the world) interactive graphic that accesses an extensive underlying database that shows everything about the electricity generation that there is to know. Each generation plant, each type of electricty, capacity, etc. and you can view the information by state, by type of energy, and with some other toggles.

Here is Minnesota, all tyhpes of energy with a greyscale map. The graphic on the left is on all of the views, I just didn’t include it on the screen grabs above.

Oh if only I’d had that back when I put together a graph on power generation sources across Canada and each state for my old green data center job. I spent a lot of hours sifting through DOE files and comparable ones for Canada. 🙂

Its interesting when looking at that Australian chart to think that the abominable Gordon below Franklin project would have added only 180 MW to the system.
Bugger all at an impossibly high price.
