Those of us concerned with climate change are especially concerned with the nomination of former Exxon chief Rex Tillerson to be Secretary of State. Well, Rex Tillerson was just confirmed by the US Senate.
Donald Trump is the least liked president ever for this point in a term. And, Rex Tillerson is now the least liked Secretary of State, with a 56-43 vote approving his appointment.
Most of the time a SOC gets close to 100% confirming votes. This is, in fact, true of most cabinet positions most of the time. Once you know a certain nominee is going to win, you just join in, for the purposes of unity etc. etc.
He got 100% approval vote from Vladimir Putin. What more do you want??
How so??? I would suppose he would know more about how to make policies to off set the biggest producers of green-house gas. Again, a political article full of satire. Sorry, I just read the first few sentences and figure.. I feel bad if anyone had to pay for your education or subscribes to anything you do. If you have a job, I hope it is not making any decisions on judgement. Facts allude you my friend. I can help you if you choose to seek stewardship. In the end we need to keep progressing on knowledge so wisdom does not skip or work around the indoctrination of a life lived doing things all ready done. I hope you find peace.. God Bless, Sir
Also, leaders, true ones never get appreciated until after people leave and work under someone else. First fact in life… Anyone who is like is conceding and giving things away. Leaders tend to be hated, they actual make people work with standards and stop them from wasting time. As Mr. Einstein said, “Time is Money,” quit wasting time, or actual work for your money.. Hope this note I wrote finds you in dues’ ….>
He knows that Exxon knew it was real then sat on the report. Yet asked about it kept going “I no work there. Speak with boss!”.
If he’s so brain damaged he doesn’t know what he knew when he was in charge, how can be fill the role he’s put up for?
@Christopher Legg: I would guess you’re either drunk or intentionally trying to come across as ignorant for some reason. There is of course a third possibility, but I hesitate to make it explicit.
Yours in allusion,
Luke Askance
“As Mr. Einstein said, “Time is Money,” ”
More alternative facts…
Facts allude you? Einstein said “time is money”? Christopher, apart from not being able to put a coherent sentence together and clearly being too lazy and/or ignorant to do a quick internet check on who said that quote, just what help do you think you can provide to anyone?
How do you deal with it? Cope or cooperate?
Dealing with the Putin and Trump situation.
I would recommend reading the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.
Yes I know the book may cost you $340.
However it is not that expensive if you look around.
The basic is that Putin has used the exact type of strategy as Hitler did in 1939.
As to relating it to Rex Tillerson he is a porn in the grand scheme of things.
The man actually may have some aspects of respectability to do with his knowledge to do with the direction that Earth is heading however he is in a situation with a Government that is heading exactly the same way as the world was in 1939.
This is serious honestly.
John, Tillerson being a “porn”, a Freudian slip maybe? He is certainly going to screw things up.. 🙂
“How do you deal with it? Cope or cooperate?”
You don’t cooperate with someone who doesn’t accept reality. You talk them down fro the ledge then lock them up in an insane asylum.
@Charles Nagy (#7):
OK, I did a quick Internet check, and I still didn’t find any source that tells me Dr. Einstein said “Time is money.” He praised compound interest, which suggests he might have said that exact quote — but I didn’t find confirmation. Perhaps you can help me out, since you apparently know for a fact that Dr. Einstein said those exact words.
By the way, the word you want is “elude”. And if you think the messages from Christopher Legg are examples of coherent writing, you are sorely misguided.
I guess I should have put the sarcasm more explicitly in my reply to Mr Legg. Of course I know it should have been ‘elude’, hence the question mark. And it was Benjamin Franklin who made the quote. My post was a sarcastic dig at Mr Legg, who apparently knows nothing but enjoys lecturing people.
Also, the word would be “elude” not “allude,” Mr. Legg.
Perhaps all these Democrats hated the idea of putting in the Cabinet someone who supports a revenue neutral carbon tax.
Apologist for Tillerson too, MikeN. Duly noted.
Not an apologist. I don’t want supporters of a carbon tax in the Cabinet, particularly at Secretary of State which deals with global warming.
Tillerson, s Secretary of State, will certainly avoid dealing with global warming. He already has a damning record of that.
I hope you’re right.
YOU had damn well better hope he has his “Come to Jesus” moment and realizes the critical need to address our global overheating problem, and joins the rest of the world in dealing with it.
It’s a very long shot. Nonetheless, he has new responsibilities and I assume he’s smart and can read people. I can’t imagine anyone smart can’t see Trump in all his ungloriousness. Given the unsmart people around him, perhaps he’ll take thought for his children and other younger people he might care about.
He has every reason to know what Putin is really like, and his new position doesn’t require him to suck up to him.
I know it’s a long shot!
Brainstorms, Rex Tillerson has supported a revenue neutral carbon tax to deal with global warming? So what a Come to Jesus moment is for him I don’t know. I’m hoping he abandons his policy ideas on global warming.
What policy ideas of his are you referring to?

Belated apologies to Charles Nagy, #13.
But inasmuch as there are two Christophers in the thread, Charles, you should have put the number of message you were replying to in your comment.
