Golden Dawn is the Greek Political party that is widely considered to be a modern Nazi party. They took a handful of seats in recent elections. You will remember that I helped to support petitions to close down the Golden Dawn web site, not because I wanted to “violate their first amendment rights” but because their party and their web site advocated violence against “immigrants” and others with whom they disagree. And, because they are Nazis. Personally, I’m not that big on protecting the rights of Nazis. Or, perhaps I should refer to what a friend of mine who is a political activist here in the Twin Cites, and who happens to be Jewish, said to me last night: “Afford them the rights that they would afford you.” Anyway, there were those in Greece who, alarmed at my activism against the Nazis, investigated me, and seeing various links between me, Harvard, the Masons, the Illuminati, and so on, decided that I am the Anti-Christ. (Again, referring to my activist friend, “Well, you do fit the profile…” But I digress….)
Anyway, now we have further evidence of the Nazis being just plain bad. Several hours ago, on morning TV ANT1, Golden Dawn/Nazi MP Ilias Kasidiaris punched out MP Liana Lanelli. Watch:
The action starts following a bout of name calling just after 1:10 when the Nazi throws a glass of water at Rena Douru, and gets heavy around 1:25.
Off screen, Kasidiaris also punched out the editor of the TV show. People at ANT1 TV tried to retain Kasidiaris in a studio room, but he broke the door and escaped. Kasidiaris is said (unconfirmed) to have threatened to sue his victim, Liana Kanelli, who for her part indicated that she would not file a suit as this would do no good.
Also:
– Journalist Delatolas who was also present and stood up to get Kasidiaris under control, told Real FM that Kasidiaris threatened leaving studio, that he’ll be back with more of his kind…
Kasidiaris’s arrest for this act of violence has been ordered by the Athens prosecutor. He is currently a fugitive from the law.
By the way, the Golden Dawn/Nazi Party has a new web site. It is here. If you like, you could contact the provider and remind them that by operating this web site they are abetting a fugitive from the law. This is the email address of the provider.
Here is how you can help:
- If you know where Kasidiaris is, call your local authorities!
- Sign this Petition!
- Don’t be a Nazi!

I’m Jewish too — ethnically, not religiously — and I think we can do a little better by them than that. I think it would be wrong to massacre them along with their spouses and small children.
But shut down their websites? Declare them to be criminal enterprises? Yeah.
“Anyway, now we have further evidence of the Nazis being just plain bad”
It disturbs me that so many people still need further evidence.
Heh love the last suggestion
one more time all these people totally humiliated my country all over the world
I think it would be wrong to massacre them along with their spouses and small children.
You know that is not what was being suggested!
It disturbs me that so many people still need further evidence.
That is the most disturbing part of this for me as well. It is like society is, indeed, forgetting.
The Golden Dawn Greek Political Nazi Party website appears to be down now!
Looks like Greece is on a downward spiral – what the hell are the Greek electorate thinking electing uneducated violent Nazis like Kasidiari to Government??
And why are US companies like Google and LiquidWeb supporting them?
I actually rather miss the 7 Nazi’s coming into my little town (Ann Arbor) for their yearly rally. It helped dispel thoughts of their being interesting. It helped prove that they weren’t really anything to be very worried about, since their ability to sway any minds was so obviously pathetic. I could have sold bigotry sprinkled with Nietzsche stuff ten times better than any of them. And we had great fun ridiculing them behind the chain-linked fences installed to stop us from beating them up, and getting rowdy to the point where the police would always have to haul them away for their own protection.
Everybody wearing arm bands with pink triangles or stars of david(even if not gay or jewish) made me feel good. And it was a reminder. It’s like they were providing a service. So a couple of really dumb people being Nazi’s isn’t all bad perhaps.
My first thought was that, considering the state of the Greek economy, it is somewhat surprising that MP beatings aren’t a regular thing.
But, as the wise man said, don’t be a nazi.
Greg:
“You know that is not what was being suggested!”
I know. I was just being a smart-ass for no good reason. sorry.
A Nazi rally in some place like Ann Arbor, where they’re going to be massively outnumbered, is not exactly the same as Nazis in places where they have real power. I love Ann Arbor, but it’s an island of humanity and reason. Like Manhattan, another place where any Nazi rally is going to be massively outnumbered by the people protesting the rally.
You should try it some place where the Nazis massively outnumber the protesters and the police are inclined to arrest the protesters just because they don’t like left-wing weirdos and because some of the Nazis are their family members and off-duty colleagues. Trust me, it’s a completely different experience.
I know. I know! That’s how these things are.
What the heck were they arguing about in the video??? Just wondering.
Well, tHe nazi called the communist an (expletive deleted) commie, and the communist called the nazi an (expletive deleted) nazi, then somebody sais the nazis would set Greece back 500 years which I would have thought was a good thing but apparently not. Then he threw the water.
Greg:
“somebody sais the nazis would set Greece back 500 years which I would have thought was a good thing”
Um, what? A good thing how exactly?
