  5. I don’t know any Catholics who don’t use birth control to limit the size of their brood to the number they can support. I can’t imagine even the Catholics going along with this one…Mormons maybe, but not too many Catholics. I suppose this also means the unfortunate women who shouldn’t have children for health reasons (as in; a pregnancy may kill them) are SOL in his book.. and the punishment for rape or incest is a child.

  7. Beat me to it. I was just going to mention the Ninth Amendment. Here it is in its entire text:

    The enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

    So you see? A right does not have to be specifically mentioned in The Constitution in order to be a right. Contraception? Not mentioned in The Constitution, but if you can make a case for it, it’s covered in the 9th amendment. The Ninth Amendment instructs the courts to favor claims of rights over laws as the lack of mention of a right is no basis for thinking there isn’t a right.

    The Catholic Church never murdered 30 million Ukrainians. Or 6 milliion Jews. Or 40 million Chinese by democide. Or 2 million Cambodians, also by democide. Etc!

  10. @gwen…Well, unfortunately many Catholics today have been evangelized by the world, and not the Church. The misguided unconverted liberal elements more concerned about social justice, than the Gospel of Jesus Christ—can be blamed for that one.

    Children are always a blessing; never a punishment. Circumstances of conception do not justify murder. It’s funny how Americans give proud lip service to unalienable rights, and immediately turn around and allow a mother to kill her unborn child.

    Mother Teresa said that America was the most loveless nation in the world. Well, it certainly is the nation most without a conscience. But wait—you’ll invade Iraq because Saddam is wantonly killing his countrymen—and that must be stopped, but somehow you don’t notice how you surpass ole’ Husseiny with all the blood on your American hands.

    People who shouldn’t have children for health reasons can use NFP. And—wait for it—learn a little self-control. All acts of marital union must remain open to God’s will, so that both man and woman remain in the co-creator role. I guess you missed that story about Onan. You should review it, you WILL be judged by it’s message.
