For it’s Tommy this, an’ Tommy that, an’ “Chuck him out, the brute!”
But it’s “Saviour of ‘is country” when the guns begin to shoot;
An’ it’s Tommy this, an’ Tommy that, an’ anything you please;
An’ Tommy ain’t a bloomin’ fool — you bet that Tommy sees!
Kipling
He did fight for Wall St of course.
This whole cult of nationality / cult of the military is the most dangerous religion in the USA. That marine is as daft as a Tea Partier saying don’t let the government get its hands on my social security. But the difference is nobody will dare tell him that he’s wrong, though it is obvious with a moment’s thought.
He fought against America if by America you mean the 99%.
It’s surely more complicated than that.
But if that’s how you feel, let him have a chance to redeem himself.
