  1. As well he should have bashed her for her handling of classified info…at best, she was “extremely careless’.

  2. I watched part of Trump’s remarks today (just after 1:00 p.m. here), and all I could think was “Holy shit, our president reads notes like a second grader who wasn’t prepared for show and tell.”

I was bemused at the image of Turkey he presented. I know a mathematician who was in Turkey (Ankara) for a few weeks prior to and after the recent election. The information he brought back (numbers of academics he had worked with in years past who had been jailed, the number of ordinary citizens and government employees who had been jailed) is stunning, and the best description he had for the country was “police state”.

I can see why Trump and the modern right like it.

  3. Have you heard about the work being done to keep him listening at NATO?

Nobody is to speak longer than 4 minutes in case they lose his attention. And they’re looking to intersperse it with entertainment to keep him awake and engaged.

They’re treating him like a pyongyang kids entertainer would treat Kim if he had been ordered to present the entertainments at his 4th birthday party by his dad.

  4. Dean, a President has to be diplomatic from time to time while talking about other countries. I’m sure if the coup were successful, he would have been enthusiastic about that too. Reailty in Turkey is that the Kemalist West was outbred and thus outvoted by the Islamist East, with the Kurds too small to overtake so far.

  5. Adam (Wow) – “Nobody is to speak longer than 4 minutes in case they lose his attention. And they’re looking to intersperse it with entertainment to keep him awake and engaged”

I see you are quoting an “unidentified source”. Seems unidentified sources are very popular these days…

By the way, how were the “profits” at the “corrupt” Wind Over Westmill (Wow) this past quarter?

  6. “Dean, a President has to be diplomatic from time to time while talking about other countries.”

Unless it;s a democratic president in which case he’s weak and a puppet of a foreign power….

    Right.

  7. Adam – “Nobody here by the name of adam”

Still, I’m wondering about those “Wow” profits and the “corruption” that took place to get them…hmmm.

I get it, other than playing stupid, silence is your best option…

  8. Adam – “Unless it;s a democratic president in which case he’s weak and a puppet of a foreign power”

Only if he was constantly bowing and apologizing…

    You make the call.

  9. “Dean, a President has to be diplomatic from time to time while talking about other countries. ”

Your track record of missing the point is intact.

  10. It;s almost as good as the aim of the average American airstrike…

    😛

At least they attempted to hit the right target. Their faith in the equipment and intel was merely misplaced (as were the aimpoints).

  11. Reminds me of the bogus Ted Cruz affair:

“In private, three administration officials conceded that they could not publicly articulate their most compelling — and honest — defense of the president: that Mr. Trump, a hasty and indifferent reader of printed briefing materials, simply did not possess the interest or knowledge of the granular details of intelligence gathering to leak specific sources and methods of intelligence gathering that would do harm to United States allies.”

  12. #14: Was your comment supposed to reassure us that are fears about the capabilities of the present occupant of the White House are groundless? If so, it didn’t work. And I can’t imagine that the rest of the free world is feeling too good about him either.

  13. IT is A gReAT HONOR TO Be HeRe WiTH ALL OF MY FRieNDS – So AMAZiNg + WILL NeveR FoRgeT!

    You stupid dumbarse american electorate.
What, ya couldnt let Brexiters be the stupidest?
Just had to be number one.

  14. Nah, we still hold number 1, though the USA is more dangerous. More power than NK and more batshit than their president.

The USA mostly voted for Hilary, the UK mostly voted to leave. I reckon half figured it wouldn’t happen, so they were safe to protest vote.

The only way USA can claim the number one position is by the inclusion of the consequences, which is world-damaging for the USA and just UK damaging for the UK.

  15. dean @20….

Right, Donald Trump’s influence resulted in leaked photos to the liberal New York Times….because he owes them so much.
I thought he was supposed to leak them to the Russians?

Here’s a thought dean, maybe you should read what you post before you post it…

“On Wednesday, The New York Times posted photos that show what it said could be the detonator, a battery, nuts and screws for shrapnel, and fragments of a backpack used in the attack. The paper, without specifying the source, said British authorities provided access to photos of materials found at the scene”

Remain dumb dean, it’s entertaining to say the least.

  16. “Theresa May said she would tell Donald Trump at a Nato meeting that shared intelligence “must remain secure”.”

“The police decision to stop sharing information specifically about the Manchester attack with their security counterparts in the US is a hugely significant move and shows how angry British authorities are.
The information from the crime scene wasn’t shared on a whim: the British and Americans have a lot of shared world-leading expertise in improvised explosive devices and scientists would be discussing whether the Manchester device tells them something new that could, ultimately, track down a bomb-maker.”

Fuck off betula, until you can say anything that is remotely true.

  17. Birch Bark

Maybe you should try reading stuff with due care and attention, as with:

The paper, without specifying the source, said British authorities provided access to photos of materials found at the scene”

Note “without specifying the source”. Given the outrage of British sources it clearly was not they who provided the offending material.

So who else could it be but organisations connected to the Trump mismanagement team?

I know you find comprehension difficult but you could at least try with something so simple.

  18. Lionel – “without specifying the source”

Of course it’s without specifying the source, it’s the New York Times….everything is an unidentified source, an unspecified source, a never mentioned source….that way we can imagine the source and declare what we imagine as being fact….it’s the Liberal way!

    For example, here you are:

You – “who else could it be but organisations connected to the Trump mismanagement team?”

Because who else but the Trump team is in deep with the New York Times? Perhaps it’s Trump himself, we all know how he influence’s the NYT, in fact, I heard he was going to change the name to The New York Trump….that’s how embedded he is!

And that line about “British authorities provided access to photos”…that’s a lie that Trump told the New York Times to print…obviously he paid them off.

It’s a known fact that Pinky Sulzberger and Trump are in bed together, I think we need an investigation…
