State Farm Drops Heartland #ICCC7

This was just posted on State Farm’s facebook page:

State Farm is ending its association with the Heartland Institute. This is because of a recent billboard campaign launched by the Institute.

That was a result of this: An Open Letter to State Farm about Climate Denial

  1. If I had a PhD. I would be embarrassed to be you.

    “How far have I fallen?”

awesome. you should be so proud.

  2. @ something’s pet

It might take you a doctorate to begin to make sense, so you may want to start with English. Fsckwit.

So State Farm is just embarrassed (bwahahaha) to be associated with such awful billboards, but not the underlying scientific ignorance WRT climate and all sorts of other policies created or advocated by Heartland? How nice of them.

  3. I understand why Greg has this thing for the Heartland Institute since Peter Gleick saw fit to involve him in his little unlawful scam regarding the stolen documents from the Heartland Institute. It is strange how, even with all of this money going to the alarmist camp they seem to be loosing ground in the battle for the hearts and minds of Americans that doubt that anthropogenic global warming is actually a problem worth bankrupting the nation over. People are far smarter than the Al Gores, Michelle Manns and others give them credit for, and it shows.

The believers of man-made-weather-disasters are wetting themselves with excitement. It painful to watch grown men drool.
Poor things, they were really wounded by Climategate, and theyâ??ve been waiting, praying that some day someone would level the playing field and show that skeptics were just as petty, shameless, and money-grubbing  as their team turned out to be (not to mention hypocritical, deceptive and incompetent). In their dreams.
Instead the hyped non-denier-gate shows just how incredibly successful the Heartland Institute is. Look at the numbers. The skeptics have managed to turn the propaganda around against a tide of money, and it is really some achievement.

You sent me the email about this issue Greg and it looks like you need a few people to comment on your site but from past experience I know that this will not see the light of day. I now know an other insurance Co. that will not get anymore of my money.

  4. “his little unlawful scam”

So someone who has to hack into several computers to both get and distribute the emails dumped en mass from CRU’s servers “is a whistleblower” but someone who is GIVEN documents that only pertain to the issue is entering a “little unlawful scam”.

Add to that the CRU emails produced BUGGER ALL about any sort of problem in the science, yet these documents (initially pretended to be fake, though this would mean no scam too) show clearly HI’s unlawful and unethical tactics and you have a pretty firm hold on how much a denier Doug here is.

  5. You tell ’em, J Doug!

How can the poor philanthropic fossil fuel businessmen compete with that kind of money? Alas, the powerful International Green Consortium has a true death grip on the economy.

    And yet…
First-quarter profit in 1012 for Exxon was $9.45 billion. Need we look at Massey Energy, the Koch brothers, BP?

  6. You show’em, Kermit!
You can start by not using any of the products that these money grabbing energy companies are producing, but that will be hard for even someone that is as omniscient as you are to do because then you could not use your computer due to the plastics it uses in its construction (most are made in China).

“A partial list of products made from Petroleum (144 of 6000 items)
One 42-gallon barrel of oil creates 19.4 gallons of gasoline. The rest (over half) is used to make things like:”

“Apple’s gains helped it overtake Exxon Mobil Corp. as the company with the biggest market value. The Cupertino, California, electronics maker said late Tuesday that it sold 37 million iPhones in its fiscal first quarter, the first period after the death of CEO and co-founder Steve Jobs. That was coupled with a big jump in iPad sales to 15.4 million, and a more modest increase in Mac sales.
Apple’s net income leapt 118 percent from the same quarter a year earlier. Revenue soared 73 percent. Both results blew the doors off Wall Street’s expectations.”

I do not think that either Apple; I own an iPad,or Exxon would be in business if they were not producing something that people must think they either need or want, but you tell’em Kermit! and see how many folks listen to you. I can get by easier with out my iPad than with out what Exxon deals in.

  7. WOW: Let me bring you up to speed on the issue of the Climate gate leaks.

“Were Russian security services behind the leak of ‘Climategate’ emails?”

“SPECIAL INVESTIGATION: Climate change emails row deepens as Russians admit they DID come from their Siberian server”–Russians-admit-DID-send-them.html

Yes, I am proud denier, as you label me.
The intellectual Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius (AD 121-180) must have foreseen Global Warming alarmist. He said: “The object in life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane.”
