  1. My friend and I were just discussing what we think the chances that Obama will be assassinated by corporate minions.

    We both think it is fairly high but I mentioned that if Obama were assassinated, we’d have Joe Biden as President. And Biden isn’t anyone to be trifled with.

I should note for those who may have been more engaged in other things over recent years, or who are very young: This speech is pretty formula for a Democrat standing in front of a Union audience (or many other types of audiences) in terms of style. This could have been Ted Kennedy running for president a couple of decades back, or Al Franken or Amy Klobuchar a few months back.

    This is not to say Obama is not great at it or that he does not put his own stamp on it, but the basic style is right out of the playbook.

    And I mean that as a good thing.
