That reminds me of the time my mother took us to Evensong when I was about five. The church wasn’t very full, so the congregation was on one side and she let us “sit quietly” on the other side. The sermon went literally over our heads, just like that “wah-wah-wah” oboe noises that parents make in Peanuts movies. After a while we got bored and started climbing over the back of one pew and under the next. I probably remember it only because of the spanking when we got home!
