This not that Jessica received is just disgusting. I trust that the police will get involved with the terroristic threat.
I’m an FFRF member and am very supportive of what Jessica has done with the non-separation of Church-State issue at her High School.
The letter speaks volumes for the idea of so-called “Chistian love”!!!!!!!
Christian morality. Isn’t it heartwarming?
Another charming example of Christian tendencies to turn the other cheek, forgive, forget, treat others as they would want to be treated, and face opposition gracefully, with a deep abiding love and respect. They could certainly give the Muslim fundamentalists a run for their money in the hate and threats department. All justified by their love of a just and forgiving God.
Well thats just delieghtful isnt it
The last few sentences pretty much sums up their mindset. First, they call her a “slut”, a “whore”, and a “sex-toy”. Then, they threaten to “gang-bang” her before throwing her out of a car.
Gotta love terroristic threats. Or not.
That’s a lot of handwriting, a school teacher would almost certainly recognize it (assuming the note is from another student). I hope the police tack it up in her school’s teacher lounge.
I’m glad I wasn’t drinking anything when I read that.
My, aren’t you optimistic.
This is horrific. That said, “get the fuck out of RI” doesn’t seem like bad advice on its face, given what I’ve seen and heard of the place.
And now, I ask you, what is the difference between this and, say, the crap on r/atheist or ERV or anywhere else where the misogynists and the MRA’s hang out?
Well, there’s a reason why I avoid Reddit like the plague.
@greg
Well, one is on the internet and is (generally) a moronic and impotent threat that damages the user more than the person it is aimed at while the other is a letter delivered by hand in order to inspire fear. I am not defending MRA’s just saying that their vile dickery is not the same as a genuine death threat that’s been shoved through your letterbox.
It always amazes me how inventive these people are in their threats. I do hope the perpetrator is caught and sentenced.
So.
Fucking.
What.
All the things I mentioned are on the internet
I thought Jessica had her threat pushed through her door? (I meant the main post not the later comments). Men’s Rights Reddit is a cesspit of madness.
@Azkyroth Well? Internet threats are a dime a dozen. Something about the anonymity that makes it easy to threaten someone.
But most are impotent threats. When Dr. Steven Best threatens to Vivisect me I know that his threat is empty because his threats are “internet based”. The vast majority of said threats are really all talk and no trousers and invective rather than a concerted plan to kill people who mock him. It is wrong but the relative severity (In my opinion) is not the same as him sending an actual letter in the mail or shoved into my letter box.
I do feel that while an internet threat is rather bad, one being sent to you in person is worse.
I do feel that while an internet threat is rather bad, one being sent to you in person is worse.
That has been my experience. In this case, if the threat was personally delivered (I had not realized that) it is 10 times worse. That would mean that a person involved in making the threat was inches away, outside, on your property.
Hey, under Florida Law, could you shoot that person through the door?
Only if they’re black.
If you close your eyes, you could swear it’s Jesus talking.
