Imagine that in order to get a vasectomy, you must agree to have a needle inserted into your testes to extract sperm, which is then photographed and shown to you. You may either view the photo or hear it described to you in detail.
While it may or may not be true that there are people out there who would pay dearly for this experience, Rebecca Watson is making a different point. Click here and bask in her rage.
This excellent bit of snark came from Forbes, of all unlikely spots:

headdesk.
Actually, Rick Santorum would be just fine with that. Getting a prescription for Viagra would be a better analogy.
It reminds me of a wonderful song about contraception “The IPD”. Sung by Judy Stone in Australia and the Ovarian sisters. See http://aazavala.hubpages.com/hub/Bizarre-record-album-covers
“Oh it’s the IPD, the IPD!/It may not feel too good to you/But it’s not hurting me./So every time the pain begins to fill your eyes with tears,/Remember I put up with it for years.”
Thanks for linking that Greg Laden. That is one powerful, awesome thought (& painful images) provoking post by the Skepchick.
I’d wish everyone a (belated) Happy International Women’s day but in the circumstances it seems inappropriate seeing these laws and the war on women raging and leading to so much suffering so bad now.
Let’s make it a Happy International Womens day *next year* by throwing these evil misogynist laws and the sick cruel, disgusting people promoting the women-hating anti-freedom and opportunity for all Coathanger lobby out of power and into social outcast status shall we?
