Remember the big vote(s) that passed our beloved Obamacare? You may also remember that in the house not a single Republican voted for the healthcare bill because not only do they not want you to have fair and reasonable access to medical care and treatment, but also, they are pre-programmed by the Hate Meme to vote against anything Obama wants. If Obama says the sky is blue, then according to House Republicans, the sky is not blue.
You may also remember that 34 Democrats went along with the Republicans and voted against your access to reasonable health care at reasonable cost. A facebook friend, Sharon Johnson Miller, just reposted a HuffPo article listing the names of these Democrats. You may want to see if any of those on this list are yours, and if so, consider taking care of that as we enter the primary and caucus season and begin to select candidates to run for Congress.

I’d certainly like to see it happen but I doubt that it will. Certainly in the case of Rick Boucher (Va) he voted against health care because in right-of-center Virginia he would be punished by his constituents if he voted for it. As a matter of pragmatism I’ll settle for a rep. who votes liberal sometimes rather than for a rep. who votes far-right all the time.
Didn’t some of them vote against this bill because it didn’t go far enough i.e.not single payer or supported the parasitic insurance companies?
That would be correct, Martin.
Strategically, we might be better off accepting less that perfect voting on the part of our representatives rather than dumping them because they voted on the wrong side of a pet issue, no matter how important that issue is. Striving for purity is a great recipe for irrelevance, which I’m hoping is going to bite the republicans in the ass this election cycle. If the dems start playing the same game, they’re going to get screwed.
For a much shorter list, ask: What House Democrats should NOT be replaced this election cycle?
Zack Space (Ohio 18th congressional district) was defeated by Bob Gibbs (a Republican) in 2010.
I’m happy to see that none of my representatives are on that list.
You missed Peter Palumbo. He might have voted for Obamacare but for this he needs to go.

You don’t want Jim Matheson out of office. His vote on healthcare rankled the shit out of me, but he is the only thing between us and yet another Tea Party Republican (as in the 2010 midterm, it was between him and Morgan Philpot, a Tea Party candidate). It’s a least of evils situation. We need him in that seat for the same reason that we need to vote for Obama.
As for finding a non-“Blue Dog” Democrat, that is a non-starter in this state. Matheson is the only Democrat with clout here, and any competition from his own party would put another Tea Partier in power and pave the way for a long-term all-Republican representation from Utah.
I don’t like it any more than you do — but while I live in his district, I’m voting for Matheson until the Utah Democratic Party grows a pair.
34 brave democrats who voted against socialism 😛 I applaud them!
