This post is a followup on Podcasts good and bad, to which some of you responded with excellent suggestions for podcasts.
I want to say that the criticisms I leveled in the previous post apply mainly to video podcasts in technolology that I’ve seen via the Roku on TWiT TV and other places, and really, on only a few of those. The following list is compiled from your comments but including only science and skepticism podcasts. I’ve added a few that you’all didn’t happen to mention.
Please suggest what is missing and I’ll add that in a future update.
- Actually Speaking podcast.
- Brain Science podcast.
- Car Talk podcast on Automotive Science and Skepticism.
- For Good Reason podcast with D.J. Grothe.
- Legaltalk Network podcast.
- Meet the Scientist podcast of Microbe World.
- Minnesota Atheists podcasts (often science related).
- MIT World Distributed Intelligence videos.
- Monster Talk podcast from Skeptic Magazine
- Nature podcast.
- Point of Inquiry podcast.
- Princeton University web media.
- Rationally Speaking podcast.
- Science Friday podcast with Ira Flatow.
- Science Weekly podcast from The Guardian UK.
- Scientific American 60 second science/a>.
- Skepticality pocast of Skeptic magazine.

- To the Best of our Knowledge podcast.
- Universe Today podcast
Astronomy Cast is probably the one that I would argue passionately for, should be on the list (embarrassingly, I forgot to mention it). Unless that’s also called Universe Today?
It might be good to add “Aaron’s World” – because it’s such a short podcast, but has that old-time radio feeling in terms of a story/serial being played (along with good info. on dinosaurs and ancient animals). Plus, the young kid’s enthusiasm is pretty contagious.
Great list. I’ll add a few of the suggestions here on my must-listen catalog.
I’ll second Astronomy Cast.
And LukeProg’s Conversations from the Pale Blue Dot is simply amazing. He’s a former fundie, now an atheist studying philosophy. It’s enthralling listening.
I enjoy “A Christian and an atheist”, . The current Christian co-host is much better than the original.

I listen to most of what you have listed above too.
The first one should read ‘Minnesota Atheists’!!!
365 Days of Astronomy Podcast.
The Best of Natural History Radio and
Material World BBC podcasts.
I like Science Magazines podcast better than Nature for some reason.
The American Chemical Society has a nice Science Elements podcast.
Nova’s podcast.
I listen to these while I ride my bicycle trainer in the winter. They can make 45 minutes go by quick which would otherwise be boring. I like the sound podcasts over the video ones.
My duh for the day – Yesterday I posted Frazer Cain’s website (Universe Today) rather than title of the podcasts (Astronomy Cast). These are at http://www.astronomycast.com.
Oo! Oo! The Secular Buddhist podcast – Buddhism from an atheistic perspective.
A History of the World in 100 Objects (http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/ahow) has technically ended, but it’s pretty much the best thing on the internet.
