There is still a problem even if writers get it right: editors will demand they ‘sex it up’, or they will edit it themselves to ‘sex it up’.
If the story is about two newly discovered frogs, the editor will want to say “This changes everything we ever knew about frogs!” Yes, it is false advertising, but editors are salesmen above all else.
