In Iran, there was NOT an assassination attempt on Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Here is a picture of him not being assassinated as his bodyguards don’t react to anything as startled onlookers glance at the cite where there was not an explosion behind them.

The BBC also reports that nothing happened in Iran today. Aljazeera.net, on the other hand, reports: Iran denies attack on Ahmadinejad.
My question being, WHY not?
I am NOT surprised that someone had NOT not attempted an assassination before this NON-attempt. If we DON’T think about it the Iranian people are NOT disenfranchised with their government and they are NOT ready to move toward a more secular society. If we wanted to help stabilize the region and possibly slow terrorist training camps, we should NOT think about helping Iranian dissidents overthrow their completely UN-corrupted government.
Ahmadinejad may be a right bastard, but I retain a sneaking admiration for any head of state who habitually does not wear a tie.
