The highly untrustworty rag News Max is reporting:
In the wake of Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele’s lashing out against the war in Afghanistan, CBS News Senior White House Correspondent Bill Plante is reporting a buzz in the GOP inner sanctum that Sarah Palin should replace him.
Huh.
Anybody hear anything about this?
Ed Brayton laughed his ass off about the idea two days ago. Apparently, the idea is being floated around, but not many are taking it seriously. I pretty much agree with Ed: it would be great, self-writing comedy, but she almost certainly wouldn’t take the job.

While it may seem hard to underestimate the judgement of Palin, I do not see her accepting a very time-consuming job requiring good organizational skills now that she has secured a much more comfy job.
Going off on a tangent (crossposted from Pharyngula), but if you think of how the debates -of BP accountability, of health care reform or of just about everything- have been *usurped by Republican framing*, you may well find this article relevant: “Disaster Messaging” http://www.huffingtonpost.com/george-lakoff/disaster-messaging_b_639040.html
My apologies for the detour, now back to Palin, and unintentional comedy. 🙂
The people I know who are most in tune with that particular alternate universe are holding out for Alan Keyes as the new token darkie.
I don’t see her accepting, but I could see her declining it because it would divert too much attention from her precious family and special-needs baby and whatever else. She’ll make herself seem even holier-than-thou and boost her conservative-christian-mom reputation even more.
On the bright side, I think Palin might be more articulate than Steele. Maybe?
Yes, please let it be true. The Republican party is so out of touch with reality and for them to put one of the biggest, most ignorant clowns in charge would be stupendous. It would hasten the collapse of the party, plus we can get more big laughs out of it.
Allen Keyes?? That’s the only rethug that could actually be dumber than Palin. Maybe they could ask Joe the (dumber) plumber.
Well, she is a good fund-raiser, and what does the GOP have left to lose at this point? Credibility? *snicker* Respectability? *snort*.
Ix-nay, but not for the reasons cited by various commenters above. Sarah Barracuda is not ready to take a pay cut.
Oh, god, please let it be. Idiocy replaced by total idiocy.
