It can leave you immobile for days at a time ensconced in a chair with a laptop and absolutely nothing else you can do.
(I’m into my fourth day as I write this. Reviewing my recent output suggests painkillers don’t help with coherence particularly, but when typing is less problematic than breathing, you will do lots and lots of it.)
