Early Friday Morning, plus/minus one half a day depending on where in the world you are, two alien space craft are going to crash into the moon. It will be visible from earth with a small telescope.

Actually, it’s not going to be good – or visible at all – unless you’ve invested in a serious telescope. You’ll need at least a 10″ scope to have a shot at seeing it.
Mike: Right, I have pointers to info on this at the link I gave above. I’d go for the TV option unless you really know what you are doing and if you do you’re not paying much attention to me.
I believe my sister and brother in law will be watching and maybe photographing.
Greg, I think Mike meant that a 10″ scope is nowhere near what a home astronomer would call a “small telescope”.
It’s more like a “what, only my firstborn? Deal!” kind of telescope to most home astronomers.
Right. 10″ is large for the home small for the observatory. But there are 10″ers out there. I believe my sister has one or two of those.
