All I can say, is if I’m hiring someone and I see on their resume that they’ve graduated from a Texas school, they’re not getting hired.
A few years ago, I had a job in Austin, Texas, in an office next to a large room rented out for conferences and meetings and I could overhear everything said. One of the groups using the conference room was an organization of secondary school teachers and administrators. At one point, the topic of declining grammatical knowledge and spelling ability came up and several of the participants protested that it didn’t matter because the internet was teaching kids the way people talk and write nowadays, so there was no discussion about what to do to improve the situation. A minor thing, but still telling about Texas.
She probably thinks that the early Earth is pretty much the same as the now Earth. Except there wasn’t any sin in the early Earth of course. Oh yeah, and people had dinosaurs do their plowing too.

I think we should be aware of what’s happening to our environment!
Oh dear god, just make it secede, make it go away. Please.

“Humility argument?” Blowing off the state of humanity’s scientific knowledge is “humility”?
I do not think that word means what she thinks it means.

Poor Ms Knight, her buzzer must be broken. Probably from slamming the “no” button all the time.
Maybe someone should have proposed an amendment to her motion, changing the words to “that almost certainly occurred”
That’s a level of humility much more consistent with the current state of the science.
wow. just. wow. There has got to be a way around this. These people can’t seriously be deciding the fate of our schools.
