Hm – I agree mostly with Prof. Turley(?), but it occurs to me there may be some good reasons to at least not investigate/prosecute yet. Cheney, on the one hand, is shooting himself in the foot, and Obama’s able to make him look like an ass. On the other hand, doing something now would likely result in a bunch of filibustering and other blustering in congress that would hold up the stuff Obama deems more important at the moment (more than usual, anyway). On the third hand, it would also likely spawn off a large set of administrative headaches as well.
And on the fourth hand, there was a glove.*
(why four? too many in the pot)

So in the USA, the prosecution of a crime that was/is so public and recognized depends on the political moment because some buccaneers could be enraged? Or because possible “large set of administrative problems”?
I thought that although you call your country “America”, there were some differences between the USA and Venezuela regarding the rule of law.
OK then.
even Obama is a politician, and he doesn’t to want to commit political suicide. I’ve yet to hear of a head-of-state willing to make that kind of sacrifice for their country.
that of course is merely an explanation, not an excuse. that’s what we invented laws for, after all. no one was supposed to be above them *sigh*
Quack quack. Quack quack. Quuuaaaaaaaack. Quack quack. I’m very sorry. This was very immature of me to mock Mr. Cheney like that. I’m very, very sorry. Quack quack. Quuuaaaaaaaack…
We are supposed to be a nation of “laws, not men.” I say sic the Justice Department on them. All the way to the top. There is a war criminal living in Dallas now. I’ll help them find him.
Time for yet another letter writing campaign. Obama seems responsive. Maybe he’ll listen if enough of us show him that we still care about accountability and the rule of law.
