Woot! Can we now stop pretending as though talking about sex in a less than serious matter has any bearing on one’s suitability for public service?
Stephanie,You’ll have to ‘splain that to me.
I like AF and wish I could vote for him in some way. Other than, he’s been linked in my sidebar for quote a while.
Janie, Google Franken and Playboy and check the news results.
I must say that I’m not sure if I can support Franken knowing that he did an interview in Playboy. This puts him in some pretty bad company. For instance, John Lennon, Jimmy Carter and Jesse Ventura all did Playboy interviews. Well, maybe not Jesse. But the other two did.Ah, yes, one could answer my cynicism saying “Ah, it was not where he did the interview, but rather, what he said!!! Plus, he did those SNL skits too. You gotta look at that.”Well, OK. Fine. Let’s see what a professional entertainer may have done while acting as a professional entertainer. Our previous governor, Jesse Ventura killed dozens and dozens of people (did you see that movie, predator???) and he was a mercenary. Ronald Reagan killed a lot of people too. And Arnold. I mean, he was both a good terminator and a bad terminator. How do we know what kind of terminator he would be once in office? So, are we saying then that Franken is to be held responsible for Satire and Fiction? But Jesse, Arnold and Ronald are not? And for the venue Playboy, we see the likes of Lennon and Carter and ask “Is Franken enough better than those two to be considered as Senator?”Uffda…. give me a break. The people of Minnesota are smarter than this.(there, saved the trolls the trouble of engaging in this sterile debate…)
Seriously? That’s what people are actually bitching about?Just when you thought the idiots could get no more inane…(I hadn’t seen the Playboy thing, but I did get a brief rundown on a letter to John Ashcroft that gave me the giggles…)
