In fact, I was there when Barack was there.  I didn&#8217;t attend the school, but I drank beer in the school&#8217;s beer hall, lived in a dorm shared by the law school and the science area, and cut through the main law school building on my way to the square when it was raining or really cold.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nThe main thing I took away from that is how obnoxious and rowdy Harvard Law Students are.  They can&#8217;t handle their beer at all.  I saw several fist fights among the students break out over conversations people were having, not even that late in the evening, not even that far into the beer supply.<\/p>\n<p>So, when I heard about the Stephanie Grace story &#8230;. the famous &#8216;racist&#8217; email and all &#8230; I was just glad to hear that no blood was spilled.<\/p>\n<p>Some brain tissue did die though, didn&#8217;t it?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n&#8220;Nothing can be more unfounded and false than the prevelant opinion that all men are born free and equal: it rests upon the assumption of a fact which is contrary to universal observation.&#8221;<br \/>\n<em>-John C. Calhoun, 1840<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>vs<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Everyone wants someone to take 100 white infants and 100 African American ones and raise them in Disney utopia and prove once and for all that we are all equal on every dimension, or at least the really important ones like intelligence. I am merely not 100% convinced that this is the case.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8211;<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.feministe.us\/blog\/archives\/2010\/04\/29\/stephanie-grace-racist-harvard-emailer\/\">Stephanie Grace, Harvard Law School<\/a>, a few days ago<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Stephanie:  In truth, some of what you are being accused of thinking\/saying is a little unfair, but most of what you say about race demonstrates astonishing ignorance on your part.  Now, it is not your job to know these things.  But it is your job, as a scholar, to shut up about stuff you know absolutely nothing about. Don&#8217;t you think?  Or, at least, that would be the wise thing to do.<\/p>\n<p>The study you ask for has been done (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0716714698?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=wwwgregladenc-20&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;creativeASIN=0716714698\">summarized here<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=wwwgregladenc-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=0716714698\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/>).
