Out of the box,  run of the mill, nothing special Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>You might think that these conversations are cherry picked, a rare set of unusual views held by a small number of the people at this rally.<\/p>\n<p>I spent hours on the telephone last election speaking to randomly chosen voters in a high-SES Republican district in Minnesota.  A minority of people with whom I spoke were pretty serious Democrats supporting the Democratic slate. The rest of the people with whom I spoke with Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>Every single one of the Republicans sounded pretty much like the people on this video, more or less.  Generally, more.<\/p>\n<p>The local candidate I was calling for was not white.  That was a major concern of many of the Republicans.  They were also concerned about his position on gun control. I would often hear this:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What is his position on gun control.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And my answer would be, &#8220;I&#8217;m not sure.
