I remember an HBES conference in which we were subjected to a very boring talk. It was not boring at first. The speaker, a well known evolutionary psychologist, started out by asking for a show of hands as to how many people had homicidal fantasies now and then. In the room of about 300, a dozen hands went up. Then the talk started.

It wasn’t really boring, it was just uninteresting and, in the opinion of many, not very good science. It was, in short, annoying. When the Q&A period began, the first question was not to the speaker, but rather, from one member of the audience (I don’t remember who) to the rest of the audience: “After that talk, how many people now have homicidal fantasies?”

A room full of hands were thrust into the air.

Fine. That was in good fun. But I’m beginning to wonder about Michael Graham. First, the Oral Roberts graduate and former comedian, now a right wing radio pundit made comments about how he would like to see President Clinton and his wife gunned down in a coffee shop. Now, from Think Progress, we learn that his homicidal rhetoric is both more intense and more eclectic. Here he is speaking on Chris Matthews Hardball:

Anyone listening to Hillary Rodham in her speech last week about patriotism, that screaming, screeching fingernail, I wanted to bludgeon her with a tire iron.

Mr. Beck, who interviewed Graham regarding the Sopranos spoof, also fantasized about committing murder, in this case, killing filmmaker Michael Moore in 2005: “I’m thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I’m wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it. No, I think I could.”

[source]

Surprised? If so, I’m surprised at you! This is the way of the Right Wing. They are a violent bunch. They shoot physicians at health care clinics, they shoot presidential candidates, they even occasionally shoot each other while hunting.

By the way, in case you have not seen the Bill and Hillary Ad, here it is in full:

Man, Clinton would make a GREAT PRESIDENT.
