(Don&#8217;t worry, not all will be US based.)  Please feel free to chime in with your suggestions and comments.<\/p>\n<p>The ultimate bird book for North America has always been two books:  both Peterson&#8217;s field guides, one for the East, one for the West.  Now, the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B001PTG37Y?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=wwwgregladenc-20&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;creativeASIN=B001PTG37Y\">Peterson Field Guide to Birds of North America (Peterson Field Guide Series)<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=wwwgregladenc-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=B001PTG37Y\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/> combines the two.  I do not own a copy, and therefore can not review it for you.  (Note:  I don&#8217;t normally review books that publishers are unwilling to send me, and Houghton Mifflin has not been a good partner lately.)<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, even though I find myself not liking the publisher too much, the book is a standard and you need to have one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You&#8217;ll notice that I&#8217;m reviewing bird books.
