Jeffrey Scott says two men walked into Register&#8217;s shop at The Antique Market on Saturday and asked to see a coin collection.<\/p>\n<p>When Register retrieved the collection, one of the men pulled a gun and demanded money.<\/p>\n<p>A shot was fired as Register threw up his left hand, and his wedding ring deflected the bullet, police said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>[Fiancee Darlene Register] gives God all the credit.<\/p>\n<p>Police were searching for the robbers, who Scott said &#8220;stole a substantial amount of cash.&#8221; <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nSo, it turns out that instead of a flesh wound to the finger, he&#8217;s got a fragment of the bullet (broken by the ring) in his neck, a fragment lodged in one of his fingers, and he&#8217;s out a substantial amount of money.<\/p>\n<p>Geez&#8230; <em>if you know what I mean. <\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The yahoos at Yahoo report: Donnie Register has a new reason to be thankful he&#8217;s married &#8230; his wedding band deflected a bullet and probably saved his life.
