So, they conspire to engage in anti-tourism terrorism. Carl Hiaasen&#8217;s <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B003ZK58UE\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;creativeASIN=B003ZK58UE&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;tag=grlasbl0a-20&#038;linkId=5432941cf818b51bcc2b5e1cb5bca860\">Tourist Season<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=grlasbl0a-20&#038;l=am2&#038;o=1&#038;a=B003ZK58UE\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/> is the first in a series of books, the first several of which are must-read. The common theme is the aforementioned missing governor, and his former body guard. The protagonist and antagonist change from book to book, but the former is usually a former journalist or a former cop or something along those lines, and the antagonist is an evil real estate developer, theme park owner, organized crime leader, Russian mobster, or something along those lines.  It is possible I&#8217;ve got some of these details wrong since it has been years since I read them. Grab used copies of any of those books you come across, to give to other people to read.
