{"id":28679,"date":"2018-01-04T20:29:12","date_gmt":"2018-01-05T02:29:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gregladen.com\/blog\/?p=28679"},"modified":"2018-02-01T18:54:13","modified_gmt":"2018-02-02T00:54:13","slug":"resolution-concerning-town-halls-erik-paulsen-amendment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gregladen.com\/blog\/2018\/01\/04\/resolution-concerning-town-halls-erik-paulsen-amendment\/","title":{"rendered":"A Resolution Concerning Town Halls (The Erik Paulsen Amendment) Revised"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A suggested resolution for Minnesotans attending their precinct caucuses this year.<br \/>\n<strong>WHEREAS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Elected members to the United State Congress sometimes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.erikpaulsentownhall.com\/\">forget that they were sent to Washington DC<\/a> to represent the people of their district, <\/p>\n<p><strong>BE IT RESOLVED THAT:<\/strong><br \/>\na bill be introduced to disallow disbursement or reimbursement to any member of the US House of Representatives or Senate from the Members&#8217; Representational Allowance fund, or any other disbursement other than salary, for any member who does not hold open public town halls in their home district at least two times per calendar year.<\/p>\n<p>An open public town hall shall be defined as a public meeting to which all constituents are invite at an appropriately sized and located venue with several days public notice, for at least two hours time provide for questions and comments by constituents.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dfl.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Resolution-Form.pdf\">The resolution form is herw<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;I know some want (me) to do a public event, an open town hall &#8230; (Laughs) &#8230; I&#8217;m not going to do that&#8221;<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/minnesota.cbslocal.com\/audio\/the-paul-jordana-show\/\">just after 8 minutes, 12-20-17 Paul and Jordana 5 PM Wednesday, Dedember 20th, 2017<\/a>)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A suggested resolution for Minnesotans attending their precinct caucuses this year.
