She is very excited about the implications of this graphic.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/scienceblogs.com\/gregladen\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/472\/files\/2012\/04\/i-a4071e16be483bd925eaa48390e3c064-Sunshine_Hours.jpg?w=604\" alt=\"i-a4071e16be483bd925eaa48390e3c064-Sunshine_Hours.jpg\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To read this, imagine yourself on a certain date (x axis).  Now, follow a line down from top to bottom and see when the sun is up vs. down.  This shows the change in &#8220;day length&#8221; across the year.<\/p>\n<p>But if you are on the south pole, it is essentially binary.
