{"id":26421,"date":"2009-04-28T14:37:39","date_gmt":"2009-04-28T14:37:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/gregladen\/2009\/04\/28\/latest-swine-flu-reports\/"},"modified":"2009-04-28T14:37:39","modified_gmt":"2009-04-28T14:37:39","slug":"latest-swine-flu-reports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gregladen.com\/blog\/2009\/04\/28\/latest-swine-flu-reports\/","title":{"rendered":"Latest Swine Flu Reports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While it is still true that no deaths have been reported for the new swine flu outside of Mexico, the virus has been identified in additional countries.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nHere is the current breakdown:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>Mexico: Over 1,000 <strong>unconfirmed <\/strong>cases; 152 <strong>suspected <\/strong>deaths &#8211; 20 confirmed cases<\/li>\n<li>US: 51 confirmed cases<\/li>\n<li>Canada: 6 confirmed cases<\/li>\n<li>New Zealand: 3 confirmed cases<\/li>\n<li>United Kingdom: 2 confirmed cases<\/li>\n<li>Spain: 2 confirmed cases<\/li>\n<li>Israel: 2 confirmed cases <\/li>\n<li>Spain: 2 confirmed cases<\/li>\n<li>Suspected cases are reported in about seven other countries.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Do no assume that we are seeing a spread of the disease as much as we are seeing a spread of data, increasing knowledge and confirmation of cases.  In other words, the above list does not constitute an epidemiological analysis.
