No great surprizes.  Well, actually, there are few slightly surprising items on the girls&#8217; list.  <sup><strong>1<\/strong><\/sup><br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>For Boys:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>astro-scientist\/Astronaut<\/li>\n<li>chemist<\/li>\n<li>biology<\/li>\n<li>physics<\/li>\n<li>sports star who knows about science<\/li>\n<li>musician who knows about science<\/li>\n<li>medicine<\/li>\n<li>security<\/li>\n<li>destruction\/evil scientist<\/li>\n<li>Nobel peace prize<\/li>\n<li>cure world hunger<\/li>\n<li>civil engineer<\/li>\n<li>professor<\/li>\n<li>agricultural science<\/li>\n<li>electrochemical engineer<\/li>\n<li>astronomy<\/li>\n<li>pharmacology<\/li>\n<li>philosophy<\/li>\n<li>statesmen<\/li>\n<li>minister<\/li>\n<li>archaeology and palaeontology<\/li>\n<li>not acting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For Girls: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>might be able to hook some guy<\/li>\n<li>science can be used in keeping house<\/li>\n<li>nutrition<\/li>\n<li>infant care<\/li>\n<li>physical therapy<\/li>\n<li>nursing<\/li>\n<li>medial, dental, or lab technician<\/li>\n<li>answer questions about the weather and telephones, etc. asked by children.<\/li>\n<li>radiology<\/li>\n<li>pharmacology assistant<\/li>\n<li>nursing<\/li>\n<li>dietetics<\/li>\n<li>photography<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><center>____________________<\/center><\/p>\n<p><sup><strong>1<\/strong><\/sup> By <em>noting<\/em> that this mid 1950s film seems to profess or encourage a strong gender bias in the kinds of science boys vs. girls of that age should aspire to, this blogger is not condoning or supporting such arcane views.
