{"id":25559,"date":"2010-06-08T12:12:48","date_gmt":"2010-06-08T12:12:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/gregladen\/2010\/06\/08\/huh\/"},"modified":"2010-06-08T12:12:48","modified_gmt":"2010-06-08T12:12:48","slug":"huh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gregladen.com\/blog\/2010\/06\/08\/huh\/","title":{"rendered":"Huh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I woke up this morning and the internet told me &#8230;<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nAccording to <a href=\"http:\/\/bowsprite.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/06\/pessimistic1.jpg\">this map<\/a>, I live between Hasty and &#8220;I&#8217;m Alone&#8221; but I have relatives near Grouse, Knocemstiff, Weed Patch and Heist.<\/p>\n<p>Will BP oil increase cancer on oiled beaches? <a href=\"http:\/\/motherjones.com\/blue-marble\/2010\/06\/how-gulf-beaches-can-give-you-skin-cancer-bp-crude-oil-pah\">Possibly. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>This should be obvious, but there is now some support for the idea: <a href=\" http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/worldnews\/northamerica\/usa\/7810111\/Children-raised-by-lesbians-have-fewer-behavioural-problems.html\">Children raised by lesbians &#8216;have fewer behavioural problems&#8217;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In case you&#8217;ve been waiting, <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.discovermagazine.com\/intersection\/2010\/06\/08\/unscientific-america-in-paperback\/\">Unscientific America in Paperback!<\/a>.  I just go mine.  It&#8217;s small, and papery.  Perfect for beach reading.  If you are a PZ Myers fan, this is a must read, but you&#8217;ll probably want to borrow it rather than buy it!<\/p>\n<p>So some guy&#8217;s computer setup looks like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2010\/06\/06\/business\/kord-pano.html\">this<\/a>, and that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2010\/06\/07\/technology\/07brain.htm\">cause him to miss a really important email.<\/a>  I see this bottle of wine in the background and wonder if maybe THAT&#8217;s the problem!  (The wine is too far away and he may have skipped the email while reaching for it.
