But there was one part that kept bothering me.  A bit of advice Mamet gives that sounds brilliant but at the same time sounded totally wrong. And suddenly, a few moments ago, it dawned on me that this part of the memo was A BIG FAT JOKE.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nIn the Memo written to the writing staff of a failing TV show, Mamet says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>HERE ARE THE DANGER SIGNALS. ANY TIME TWO CHARACTERS ARE TALKING ABOUT A THIRD, THE SCENE IS A CROCK OF SHIT.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Ha. Two words: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0802150578?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=wwwgregladenc-20&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;creativeASIN=0802150578\">American Buffalo<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=wwwgregladenc-20&#038;l=as2&#038;o=1&#038;a=0802150578\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" style=\"border:none !important; margin:0px !important;\" \/>.<\/p>\n<p>An entire play about two characters talking about a third.
