He needs to make an X-Y data plot, but he has 5.2 million data points.<!--more-->&#8230; So he did us all a favor and went through a series of tests using different data, including the famous &#8220;Matlab&#8221; (see:  <a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com\/gregladen\/2007\/11\/opensource_math_opinion_essay.php\">Is There a Black Box in Your Research Methodology<\/a>) and discovered that there were problems with all of them.  Then he came across the <a href=\"http:\/\/gri.sourceforge.net\/gridoc\/html\/index.html\">GRI Graphing Language<\/a>.
