While switching to cotton or wool clothing may seem like an obvious solution, most clothes are at least a blend.   The one thing I remember is the suggestion that clothes be washed in cold water to reduce the amount of microplastic particles shed while the washer is running.  Filters are another, and here are some homemade filters for the drain hose:
