What with Sidney Powell, QAnon, Covid-19 denial and the Soros-Gates-Big Pharma connection, the Deep State and other loony conspiracy theories, I have had it with 2020. As if the pandemic was not bad enough, 2020 has seen insanity go mainstream, largely because the Oval Office was occupied by a raving lunatic. Trump was always nuts, but his behavior in response to his election defeat has truly underlined how insane he really is. It is beyond a joke at this point. His insanity is a dangerous liability. I am holding my breath until the malignant monster is out of office. The worrying thing is that much of Trump’s cult base is utterly mesmerized by his loony musings. They cling to everything he says as if their lives depend on it, and in Orwellian terms facts are lies and lies and the truth.

If, as seems clear at this point, the orange stain does not concede at any point, then he is deliberately disenfranchising the many who for some crazy reason voted for him, despite how he dismantled or destroyed federal agencies and was on the verge of annihilating democratic institutions. These zombies will believe that the election was rigged and that a second term was stolen from their messiah. I just hope that some of these fools can be deprogrammed. It won’t be easy, as cults are notorious for their mindless subservience to the cult leader.

Trump the chump will soon be out of office, but unfortunately will not be forgotten. He has done more damage to the USA and the world than any previous President. Biden will be able to overcome much of our lost respect, but it will take a long time to restore it completely.
