I also learned a lot from my favorite science fiction and fantasy authors.

Do you remember the line from Heinlein – (I paraphrase) when arguing with your wife, when it becomes clear you are winning, apologize immediately? That has stood the test of time.

So many wonderful lessons – served up with a lot of fun.

RickA YES! A Heinlein/Asimov/Clark/Norton and a few others where my main teachers thru my teens.
In fact it was a Conan story that cured my fear of ghosts!

On any of his books there is libertarian bent, but he modified it by one of his characters saying to another that ALL political systems are OK and they all require the same thing…intelligent, THINKING, non-delusional, non-self-centered people involved or they fall apart! Which the one thing most countries DO NOT HAVE! Especially this one!

There are some valuable nuggets in that one. My favorite is the advice “If you don’t fully understand the problem, solve the parts you do
understand and the rest will follow.” I do think, though, that this book is a source of many of the fears of a One World Government and overreach.
