Not that subjective feelings are unimportant, but the time to make them plain should ideally be at or quite near the time of the “offense” (as subjectively perceived). It’s only in fantasy novels that peoples’ thoughts can be read.

How difficult can it be to establish objective norms of sexual harassment? Based on a quick read of NDT’s statement, I do not see that he did anything wrong of a sexual nature. Personal space? Perhaps.

But, I think it is is crucial to not define sexual harassment based merely upon the subjective feelings of the the so-called victim. Some people are going to get “creeped out” by behavior that would bother some, most, or all other people not in the slightest. We need concrete rules of behavior that must not be crossed. Not subjective and retrospective allegations from people who said nothing at the time.
