It can't be resolved. It exposes a human flaw that is especially strong in Minnesota culture, but can be fond anywhere. The resolution requires that we have different brains. That is why it is unsettling.

That's amongst the strangest shit I ever read.
It's both boring and exciting concurrently.
There's a sort of expectant tension that is never resolved. It's a fabulous lead up to some humour but there is none.
It's got great potential to be a sort of morality tale but there's none of that.
The story flows really well.
Strange. I enjoyed 100% of something, but because there wasn't more I'm unhappy!!!
Possibly there's a cultural thing I ain't getting.
A sort of in joke for locals. About torches or elderly or fuck knows what.
Perhaps it's a local cultural story telling style.
Tales without resolution!
Perhaps it's an allegory for something meaningful to th author.
I'm slightly more unsettled than I should be from the piece, but not sure why.

Hmmmmmm
Thanks for it anyhow. It's good to be pushed a bit outside expectations.
Hang on! It's resolved as good as any story can be, really. Characters dead and house sold. So why dosnt it feel resolved? Too boring an ending? It features a fucking bear attack!
That's not boring. Jeez, I dunno....
