First, the USA is not the world. Global CO2 emissions need to be addressed to prevent global climate impacts. Globally, the picture is not rosy at all. Can you see the difference America’s emissions reductions have made on the curve? No, you can’t.

Second, the decline in US emissions is multifactoral. While increasing use of gas is a key driver, it is not by any means the only one. Nor will it lead to significant decarbonisation as gas is still a fossil fuel.
