I’m sure the usual idiots who don’t care about reality will pooh-pooh it, but I’m also sure they’ll do that without taking the time to read any of it.

Much of the data about the massive rate of leaks of gas, liquids, and other contaminants shouldn’t be a surprise: fracking is, despite all the hype, simply a large scale brute force method for getting through to the “good stuff”.

There is a sort of “fracking” that I would be very happy to put up with: hydrological fracturing as a way to harvest clean superabundant geothermal energy. As I understand it, it uses plain old water to fracture underground rock formations, allowing geothermal to be useful almost everywhere, not just in a few places out west.

This idea has gigantic potential and almost no press or research to support it.

It might also produce mini-quakes. Those I could live with.
