From the museum:

The Museum of Science Fiction released today the Kindle eBook edition of its anthology celebrating the women of science fiction. Catalysts, Explorers & Secret Keepers: Women of Science Fiction features a mixture of new and reprinted works showcasing how woman have been an integral part of science fiction as authors, readers, and characters for more than a century.

Highlights of the anthology include cover art by two-time Hugo award winning artist Julie Dillon, three new poems by current SFWA Grand Master Jane Yolen and original fiction by Nebula-award winners Seanan McGuire, Pat Murphy, Sarah Pinsker as well as Nebula nominee Bonnie Jo Stufflebeam. Catalysts, Explorers & Secret Keepers also features original stories by Floris M. Kleijne and AJ Lee, which were selected by the project’s editorial team from an open call for submissions.

Other award-winning authors who contributed their works to the anthology were Eleanor Arnason, Catherine Asaro, Monica Byrne, Kiini Ibura Salaam, N. K. Jemisin, Nancy Kress, Naomi Kritzer, Karen Lord, Anthea Sharp, Carrie Vaughn, Sarah Zettel, and Hugo-nominee Betsy Curtis (by way of her heirs).

“I’m honored to have worked with so many amazing contributors. It’s surreal, to be honest,” said Monica Louzon, the project’s lead editor. “This whole project has been an incredible journey and an unforgettable experience.”

Catalysts, Explorers & Secret Keepers was made possible after a successful Kickstarter campaign, which raised over 200% of its funding goal with pledges from over 600 backers. Following the digital release today, hardback and paperback print versions are scheduled for general release late next month.

The Museum of Science Fiction is proud to offer this anthology as a “take-home museum exhibit,” another form of interaction with our community in addition to our temporary exhibits, educational initiatives, online gallery, and annual Escape Velocity convention.
