Tempting fate is always a foolish thing to do. Or let’s speak about “the law of averages.” Perhaps one has done some foolish thing and gotten away with it numerous times. Eventually, the law of averages WILL catch up with you and bring a failure and always, one is not expecting it! In the Holy Bible, book of Deuteronomy 6:16 says, “You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.”

I like how it’s written, bit also the story about Treadwill being eaten makes more sense if the elder bear was not habituated /or less habituated/ or sick, old and starving. 13 years is, as it is, a very ling time to hang around bears and Not get eaten in that time
