Demanding 1.5 C and no BECCS is their right I suppose, but why stop there? They might as well ask for unicorns too.

Re. “corruption and lack of transparency,” perhaps you should be reminded that the Bush, Harper, and Abbott governments all tried to hide evidence and hinder research, and all were supported by fossil fuel interests. The situation in Australia is still appalling:

It is like having my neighbor shit on 100 acres of my land for the past 250 years, then telling me I must hand over 30 of those acres to that neighbor for my own goo if I want the immense pile of shit to be slowly cleaned up over the next 100 years,
