Aside from their infamous efforts at gerrymandering (what should be a capital offense), how are these barbarian G0P's "getting the spotlight" (i.e., gaining political control) in places like Missouri?

I say a new federal regulation is in order: Everyone must vote every election, or pay a fine. (Or, over-tax slightly and offer the overage back as an extra tax credit if one votes, forfeit if they don't.)

We should support Texas out of the Union... Give a more deserving, U.S.A.-supporting state the money to build the collider. (Ted Cruz can be come President of the Republic of Texas, our new neighboring country to the south... Populated by G0P cast-offs, deported there by the majority here.)

Greg or someone:

1) Contact Go F--- Me and report Jim Jones for a fraudulent campaign, on the basis that he already has the money he needs to rebuild his office, and his failure to disclose that is effectively the same thing as fraud.

That should get his begging game shut down, at which point he'll squeal like a stuck pig, and the whole scam will get wider attention.

2) Do a little research and find out if any other former Speaker in recent Missouri history has continued to use the title after leaving office. If the answer is No, then...

3) Report him to whatever government body is responsible for campaign financing in Missouri (or go to the federal level), for using Go F--- Me as an unlawful vehicle for campaign fund raising to rebuild a campaign HQ.

Anyone in Missouri:

Next time this creep has any kind of public engagement, show up with some friends (for safety). Stand up and give him a good hollering fire & brimstone speech about how he's a liar & fraud who is going to go to Hell (with a capital H) for despoiling God's creation with his climate denialism. Keyphrase search "Christian environmental stewardship" for background on the progressive Christian approach to these issues, to get a sense of the kind of language you'll need to use.

For best results, put together the speech in advance, make it no longer than 20 seconds, and practice until you have it memorized and can put some serious feeling into the delivery.

---

I have to say I was heartsick to read the comments from Larry: "we have smart entrepreneurs, we have scientists, give us a chance to lead on this...!"

Frankly reminded me of someone from a third world country begging the rest of the world to recognize that they have talent too, and they deserve respect and opportunity.

Dammit, in these United States, no state should be in a situation where its brightest and most capable have to beg the rest of us for recognition and respect! No doubt Missouri has more than enough people with the smarts, the strength, the means, and the will, to do great things on many fronts, climate among them. But instead what happens is that barbarians like Jones get the spotlight and make the entire state look backward. Similar case for the entire Southeast.

That has to stop. What I think is needed is something like a citizens' league for Southern progress, to organize all of these talented people to speak with a strong voice that will be heard loud and clear from sea to shining sea.

While we're at it, let's support Texas and finish building the Superconducting Supercollider. The tunnels are still there, the whole thing can be finished, with modern tech that will make it the equal of the CERN facility in Europe. Let's see Texas USA become a world-class center of particle physics research.

We can do this.

"We are long past the days when one can say we can't attribute a particular weather event to climate change."

Tell that to Professor Richard Muller. He's saying it over and over on Quora. For example, Google, "quora, why do people say the science is settled". He has the top answer, and it will make you groan. I keep challenging him on this claim; he has stopped answering me lol
