But, then, global warming comes along, makes forest fires more common and more severe, and the carbon goes right back into the atmosphere. If there are enough fires, trees can switch from a sink to a source.

Actually, the example – inspired by the video – was mine, not his. But together with yours it clearly shows how thankful we should be for rising CO2 levels. What would we do without them?
