But I think the should bring something new,especially with Unity. The word context is so old. The should bring something more updated. But so far the desktop is good.

Yes that is correct. I’m speaking fast and loose her. “Gnome 2” is a category of desktop style, distinctly different from “Gnome 3” regardless of the exact version. And the verb “To unityize” is simply an insult hurled at anyone who does that!

Gnome 2 development stopped at 2.32. Thr Mate Desktop project forked the last version, so 2.32 and not 2.0.
