I’m on record as opposing the total abolition of nuclear weapons.

One reason: If we find out a big asteroid is headed our way, nuclear weapons are a prime candidate for the means to deflect it. (The theory goes like this: You detonate the weapon close to the asteroid, and the blast or heat causes a push that changes the asteroid’s path.)

On the other hand, if the asteroid isn’t very big and isn’t going to hit a populated area, we might just let it hit, preferring that to the hassle of getting approval to launch nukes.

On the gripping hand, we wouldn’t know until very late where on Earth the body would hit. So nukes would likely remain “on the table” for use against any potential collider.

Indeed it would — even more newsworthy than the “fact” that Abraham Lincoln was born in a log cabin that he built with his own hands.

Patrick Moore was a founder, you Orwellian Turd. Even GP listed him as a founder, until he quit over GP becoming more Political ( a Commie Front Group ) than an Enviro. Org. I was a Enviro. Lawyer in the 1970s in Vancouver. Saying Patrick Moore was not a founder is like saying George Washington wasn’t a founding father.

Question. Has this scientifically ignorant ( on on AGW ) Moore cock changed his view of nuclear weapons?
Does he still think they are bad?
Does he lobby against them from a humanistic or ecological standpoint?
Or does he, like many many people, think
they are just fine?
Did a brief computer search engine search but
couldnt find anything where Moore discusses nukes recently.
One could reasonably expect public comment
from him on the awarding of the peace prize to ICAN, but i cant find zip.
If hes pro nuke he can suck a dead dogs dick.
If hes still anti nuke at least he has that as a redeeming feature.

Soviet-style photo/history editing and smear campaigns don’t make Greenpeace look any better. Why does the article not mention the historical record? You would think that at least acknowledging the old Greenpeace website would be proper.

Bob Hunter was the main conspirator in the Greenpeace movement. He wrote for the Sun newspaper and started the Georgia Straight , a then underground newspaper located in Gas Town. He not only coined the name (in crossing the Burrard St, bridge by car), he was determined to get the word peace in the slogan as that was a catchword of the day. They were protesting against clear-cut logging practices on Van. Island by McMillian Bloedel Co. Although humble in its roots Greenpeace has now grown to be a Megalithic joke.

The letter clearly stated that he is applying to the”Don’t Make A Wave Committee” for the voyage of the ‘Greenpeace’.

Greenpeace was not started until 1972, at least a year after this letter.
